Waterjet Applications

Industry Solutions
Waterjet technology is used in so many industries and continues to be used as a solution in various areas where other machine tools cannot accomplish specific cutting projects. The abrasive waterjet is one of the most environmentally-friendly cutting equipment you will find in the industry with the use of water and garnet pressurized to cut almost any material accurately and with precision.

Advantages of Using a Maxiem JetCutting Center
The MAXIEM provides a great advantage over other machine tools. For diverse waterjet applications, the MAXIEM can cut a wide range of materials with no required changes in setup. In addition, any material that is heat-sensitive can be cut using the MAXIEM. When cutting with waterjet technology, there is no heat-affected zone or thermal distortion, which can occur when operating other machine tools. Cutting thick material can be handled easily with a MAXIEM, and its simple maintenance creates a cost-effective solution to any shop. The MAXIEM waterjet system eliminates secondary machining steps saving you time and money.

Versatility of using a Maxiem Waterjet
Controlling the jet stream on the MAXIEM waterjet is made simple with our OMAX Intelli-MAX® Software, the only waterjet software written exclusively for waterjet systems. A waterjet provides greater versatility over other machine tools since you can cut various materials and thicknesses. Materials commonly cut with a waterjet include rubber, foam, plastics, composites, stone, tiles, metals, and much more.

Here are some areas that you might find a waterjet: Fabrication Shops, Metal Service Centers, Trade Schools, Job Shops, Architectural, Sign, Stone, Gasket, and many others.

Typical Applications
  • Job Shops:Produce a wide variety of short-run parts
  • Wire EDMShops: Save valuable machine time where Waterjet machines tolerances are acceptable.
  • Laser Shops and Aerospace Industry: Work with materials that are affected by heat (such as titanium, and aluminium) or materials that laser can not cut (such as thicker metal or composites).
  • Prototype and R&D Shops: Work directly from CAD drawings.
  • Maintenance and Repair Shops:Quickly produce one-off parts.
  • Original Equipment Manufacturers:Control Just-in-Time inventory requirements.
  • Metal Fabricators: Offer "clean edge" plate work, such as brackets, machine parts and weldments.
  • Architectural Fabricators:Lets you create complex designs in glass, stone, tile and metal with Water jet cutting.
  • Waterjet Specialty Shops: Makes parts with higher tolerance than any other waterjet system.
  • Industrial Manufacturers: Minimize scrap when working with expensive materials.
